Essentials for Camping as Taught by K-Dramas

Next week I go to camp! YAYYYYYY! It's a week long Bible camp in Tennessee. It's really fun and gives me the chance to step away from my computer, smart phone, and any other devices that fuel my K-Drama addiction. Though I'll be sad to lose a week of dramas, I have fond memories of Korean Dramas filled with camping scenes to keep me warm at night.

The characters in K-Dramas seem to go camping or on trips often and going camping is also a big moment on variety shows. Through watching these I have learned that there are some items that are necessary for camping and the activities that go along with it.

SUPER FLY HIKING GEAR!
Apparently hiking is a big part of Korean culture. There are several brands of hiking apparel and several K-drama scenes that involves a good hike. There won't be much hiking on my trip, but if there was I'd definitely have to pick up one of the awesomely designed and coordinated outfits.

RAMYUN!
I think we can all agree that ramyun is a must, and not just any ramyun, Shin Ramyun. SHIN RAMYUN IS A MUST!!! This brand of ramyun has been a staple in my house since seeing it consumed by the buckets on Korean Dramas and finding them in my local Asian Food store (even in my local Walmart). You cannot, and I repeat, cannot go camping without food and what better food to have than a warm pot of spicy noodles.

A TRAILER/CAMPER!
Sure, you can rough it and bring tents and sleeping bags and sleep on the ground, but it'd be better to have a camper. Campers are nice and cozy, and depending on how much you're willing to spend you can have all the amenities you'll ever need: a kitchen, bathroom, bed, etc. I'll be sleeping in a cabin on my trip so this is not a necessity for me but if I had the option to sleep in a camper or in a tent I think I'd choose the camper.

CUTE BUDDIES!
I am mostly pulling this one from The Heirs. Though that camping trip wasn't the most pleasant, I think I would have enjoyed being around such attractive people for a weekend. We would have had great conversations about their skin regiments and I think I could have been a good catalyst for some conflict resolution. I also would have made sure that the staring wouldn't have gone on for so long.

MOBILE DEVICES!
I have also noticed that there are a great amount of electronic devices, mainly cell phones, on camping trips. At the camp I am going to I am not really allowed to have an electronic device and I would advise against anyone else having one too. You're supposed be enjoying the scenery and the company. It's kind of hard to do that if you're staring at your phone. This doesn't mean that you can't bring one for emergencies but try not to use it for recreation and instead do some fun activities like fishing or dodge ball or ddakji.

So, I have to say that if I was going on a typical camping trip those items would be at the top of my must have list. however, I think I may only be able to get away with the ramyun and the cute buddies (I'm going with children and I must say they're pretty adorable).

If you've noticed some other camping staples in Korean Dramas that I missed let me know. I'd like to know how to make the most out of my camping trip.
